I want to share with you our family life. I love to cook and craft, when I have time or when I am not fighting my fibromyalgia or diabetes. I will tell you about those days too. My motto is "Life is an adventure". Join me on mine!

Adorned From Above: 12 Uses for Rubbing Alcohol
I want to thank Adorned From Above for publishing this list. I love finding lists like this. It helps to save money and usually healthy for the family than costly cleaning products. So as I find other helpful hints like this you all can expect me to put them up. It is also a way for me to keep them all in one place. LOL Does that mean dementia is setting in if I need a blog to help me organize things. Not good. Oh well.

Annoyances
I don't know about you but the last few days every little thing has been getting on my nerves. I have been snapping at everyone in the house, even the pets aren't safe. I don't know why. Nothing is really wrong. Haven't seen much of the hubby, but that is normal this time of year in his business. It even got so bad, I went of on a friend on Facebook because I didn't like what she commented to one of my posts. Pretty sad. I thought it would be a good idea if I stayed away from this blog if I was acting like that. Today I had a break through. I went to our usual Tuesday morning Bible study and as we were discussing the book of Mark I felt a great calm come over me. I realized than what was wrong with me is I had been gone from Church for to long. Last Tuesday we didn't have class, Sunday I didn't go to church because I was under the weather. I needed an infusion of Christ in my soul. I have had a much better day since.
I have been a homemaking fool today. I have my last load of laundry in the washer, the dishes are done and supper was delish. I made "My Mama's Meatloaf."
My Mama's Meatloaf
2 lb hamburger
1 egg
1 envelope Lipton Onion Soup Mix
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 sleeve saltine crackers, crushed
Mix all ingredients together until just combined. Don't over mix. Put in a loaf pan. Bake a 350° for 1 hour.
To make it my mama's classic meal, serve it with baked potatoes, string green beans and a tossed salad. Every time I eat this, it brings me back to my mom's kitchen table. Nothing better.

Bbbbrrrrrrrrrrr!
Well, it is nothing but freezing cold here today! I think our high temperature was -8 with wind chill of -24. I am very glad I didn't have to go out a lot today. I told the hubby I am going out twice, once to take the daughter to school and once to pick her up. That is all I went out today too. I cooked up a big pot of chili for supper and we are all hunkered down for the night. Tomorrow I have decided to start rearranging the craft/storage/office/pantry room. It is going to be an adventure.

Snowy Day
It is very quite in the house tonight the hubby is working late and the daughter is doing homework in her room. Seems odd that one or the other isn't blasting the TV or their iPod. I think I could like this, but now my mind is racing to the million and one things I should be doing, i.e. working in the craft room, doing laundry, putting away laundry. Oh yeah that's right, I am still recovering so I can't do those things. Fine by me!
I did try a new recipe tonight. It is Chicken Taco Casserole from Six Sisters blog. The recipe is as follows:
Chicken Taco Casserole
Ingredients:
1 (10 oz) bag tortilla chips
2 (10.25 oz) cans cream of chicken soup
1 1/2 cup sour cream
1 (14oz) can diced tomatoes and green chilies (Ro-tel)
1 can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 (1oz) packet taco seasoning
3 cups chicken, cooked and shredded
2 cups cheddar cheese
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch pan.
In a large bowl, combine the chicken soup, sour cream, Ro-tel, black beans, taco seasoning, and chicken. Set aside.
Crush chips and spread half of them on the bottom of the pan.
Spread half of the chicken mixture over the tortillas. Top with 1 cup of cheese. Repeat layers.
Bake for 30 minutes, until bubbly and cheese is starting to brown.
It turned out great. Everyone loved it. I guess this recipe is a keeper!
Well my help is being asked for with homework. You know I actually like to be asked to help with 7th grade homework. It makes me feel like I remember something I was taught so long ago. I like it even more, when the daughter gets a good grade on the homework I helped her with. HAHA!

The FLUUUUUUU!!!!!!
We were hit by a surprise snow storm today. So far we have gotten about 5-6 inches of heavy, wet snow. It is going to make driving fun in the morning. Times like this, I say thank goodness my husband owns an auto body shop. If I wreck the car, he will fix it.
We did get some exciting news today. Our ticket for the State Wrestling Tournament have arrived. I know you all are probably saying, "why would that be exciting?" In our little town, wrestling is HUGE. Our high school team has won a state title for the past 4 years. This year is the first year my nephew is on the varsity team. He is doing a great job. It is also a really fun weekend, with about half of the town there showing there support for the team and just all hanging out together. Our daughter is really looking forward to it even though she will be leaving half way through the weekend to go to a church event. She is going to the REVOLVE tour. It is part of WOMEN OF FAITH. She can hardly wait. She did say that she wanted to do this by herself and then maybe next year we could do it together. I think my baby is growing up! NOOO! On that happy thought I am going to go back to my bed. I think I have rambled enough for today.
Bye for now! Sara

Sunday Morning
Yes, I am skipping out of church this morning, but the husband and daughter are going so I don't feel so bad. I just had surgery on Friday, so I feel I have a pass for this one Sunday. You will notice in the blog that my life involves a lot of things going on around church. As for my surgery, it was a minor, same day thing. No big deal. I was even able to go over to a friend's house last night for awhile. I had to have a bladder sling but in. I never thought at the age of 44, I would need one, but as they say "Never say never." So far so good. Everything has been going really well so far. The worst pain has been in my shoulder of all places. I think maybe during surgery, they had me in an odd position. I think the best part of it all is Robert, the husband, said I could get a maid to clean the house for the next month or so. The time the doctor said I couldn't vacuum, lift etc. Hopefully I can get him to make it a permanent situation. Fingers crossed! :) I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. Bye for now!
